Vodafone (www.vodafone.co.uk) is a major player in mobile phone networks across the world. It has always been the leader in terms of UK subscriber numbers, using both both GSM and 3G technology.

History

The UK's first mobile call was made by Vodafone on the 1 January 1985. By the millennium, the network was the largest provider in Europe and the largest of its kind anywhere in the world. By 2005, Vodafone had more than 15 million customers in the UK and 165 million across the world.
