Unicode

A 16-bit character encoding scheme that allows characters from Western European, Cyrillic, Eastern European, Arabic, Greek, Hebrew, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Urdu, Thai, Hindi and all other major world languages to be encoded in a single character set. The Unicode specification also includes a wide range of typesetting information required for worldwide locale support and standard compression schemes. Symbian OS (used in mobile phones) fully implements Unicode.
