SyncML
Acronym for: Synchronization Markup Language.
Universal protocol for data synchronisation, optimised for wireless networks. The SyncML consortium was set up by IBM, Nokia and Psion among others, and is sponsored by Symbian.
SyncML is intended to work with data formats ranging from personal data (e.g. vCard & vCalendar) to relational data and XML documents, and on transport protocols as diverse as HTTP, WSP (part of WAP) and OBEX.
