Polyphonic Ringtone

Coming from the word polyphony, meaning "many sounds". Polyphonic ringtones are of higher quality than standard monophonic ringtones, because they allow several notes to play simultaneously from a MIDI file, producing a more natural and realistic sound for melodies. Various phones support different number of synchronized chords i.e. from 4-40 or even more.
