OBEX

Acronym for: Object Exchange.

A communications protocol that allows objects such as vCalendar schedule entries and vCard contact information to be exchanged using either Bluetooth or IrDA (IrOBEX). Symbian OS implements IrOBEX for exchange of vCards and vCalendar, for example between an Ericsson R380 Smartphone and a Nokia 9210 Communicator.
