Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP)
A standardised runtime environment that is designed to enable the use of Java software (J2ME) to run easily across mobile phones, PDAs and two-way pagers. MIDP is usually paired with Connected Limited Device Configuration (CLDC), which are related standards that together define a complete standardised environment for Java software on mobile devices.
The MIDP specification tackles subjects such as user networking, interface, persistent storage and application model.
