European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI)
The non-profit making European standardisation body for telecommunications. Founded in 1988 by the members of the Committee on European Postal Regulations (CEPT), ETSI's mission is "to produce the technical standards which are necessary to achieve a large unified European telecommunications market". This includes the specification of the GSM and DECT standards.
