Diversity Receive
A method that is often used by mobile phone manufactures to improve the signal strength of received signals. This system uses two independent antennas that receive signals that differ in amplitude and phase as a result of the slight difference in the antennas position. These two signals are either summed or the strongest is accepted by voting. The most popular methods of this technique include dual-receiver audio switching, dual-antenna phase switching, and ratio diversity audio combining, the latter being the most effective method.
