Cochannel Interference
The interference caused between two cells that are transmitting on the same frequency within a network. Cochannel interference can only be minimised through proper cellular network design, particularly by maximising the C/I (carrier-to-cochannel interference) ratio. This may be don by increasing the distance between cells that use the same set of transmission frequencies.
